We as SMD are an interdenominational Christian network that wants to remain independent as such. We explicitly do not want to be a substitute for church congregations! Most SMD members come from different congregations.

Erlangen is historically very Protestant in character, which is why there are comparatively many Protestant or free-church communities. Nevertheless, there are also several Catholic churches, some of which have merged.
