We as SMD are an interdenominational Christian network that wants to remain independent as such. We explicitly do not want to be a substitute for church congregations! Most SMD members are also part of a church.
If you are looking for churches in Erlangen – here is a small collection to help you on your search (no claim to completeness and no guarantee for the dates of services!) At the bottom we have compiled a short list of other Christian university groups – just in case SMD Erlangen isn’t for you (which, of course, we hope isn’t the case).
Protestant churches
A majority of the Protestant churches is – just like the SMD Erlangen – part of the Evangelical Alliance.
Catholic churches
Erlangen is historically very Protestant in character, which is why there are comparatively many Protestant or free-church parishes. Nevertheless, there are also several Catholic parishes, some of which have merged.
Other university groups in Erlangen and the surrounding area
Of course, we are happy if you find the community and spiritual context you are looking for with us. However, if that is not the case, there are more Christian student and university groups, we do not want to keep from you in the surrounding area.
